Hösten = städa ur fågelholkar. Jag har en villaträdgård & jag är rätt övertygad om att jag har en av de mest holktäta trädgårdarna då jag har ca 15 fågelholkar utplacerade här & där. Detta beror på att jag gör allt som står i min makt för att öka den biologiska mångfalden. Jag har holkar med olika dimensioner på ingångshålet för att attrahera olika sorters fåglar.

Under våren fick jag hundpäls av en vän, hon har en kungspudel & när hunden klipptes hade jag tjingat pälsen och jag hoppades den skulle användas som bomaterial i holkarna,  men när jag & min dotter städade ur holkarna nu för nån vecka sedan hittade vi ingen päls alls utan fåglarna har använt säkra kort i form av mossa & gräs. Längre tillbaka när jag hade häst brukade fåglarna sitta på hästens rygg och plocka päls på tidiga våren för att använda som bomaterial i holkarna

I den här holken fostrade blåmesen upp en kull med ungar innan den svartvita flugsnapparen flyttade in och kläckte fram en kull.

Autumn = clean out the bird houses. I have a  villa garden and I’m quite sure that I have of the most bird hous close gardens course I have about 15 different bird houses all over the place, this because I’m doing all in my power to increase the biological diversity in my garden.  In this garden I have a lot of different houses with different sizes of the entrance holes to attract different birds.

During last spring I was lucky to get a hold of a big bag of dog fur, I have a friend who has a big poodle and when it was time to cut the fur she came with the bag and I placed it out in the garden hoping that the birds would like to use it when they built their nests, but when me and my daughter cleaned out the bird houses a few weeks ago we didnt find a single straw from the dog fur, they had build their homes with moss and grass as usuall. Back in the days when I had a horse, the birds used to sit on the back of the horse and pick the fur in early spring to use in the bird houses.

In this bird house did the blue tit raise their chickens before the black and white flycatcher moved in and raised their young ones.
